In 2012 founder and President Josh Gottlieb worked as a local organizer in a hard-fought Union campaign that was forced to an untimely end because of a Union affiliation.
Gottlieb rose to form and develop a Union that could achieve the protections, benefits, and rights workers deserved - independent from any political or Union affiliations. And so began Local Union 514, and the Brotherhood of Amalgamated Trades (B.A.T.)
Active Union Members will engage often with Union Leadership. Our leaders take an out-front approach working directly with our Membership in order to remain connected to the issues our Members face every day.
